His musical education began at the State School of Music in Bielsko-Biala where he learned to play the double bass at prof. Bonawentura Nancka’s class. He continued his musical studies at the Academy of Music in Wroclaw under the direction of prof. Tadeusz Gorny and prof. Edward Krysta. In 1981, while still a student, he passed the qualifying examination to the W. Lutoslawski Filharmonic Orchestra in Wroclaw where he works for today as a double – bass player. He has been a member of the Artistic Council of this ensemble for many years. In paralel he keeps the pedagogical activity in the General Primary and Secondary School of Music in Wroclaw where from 1984, is employed as a double bass teacher. His pupils are prize-winners of multiple national and international bass competitions, and vast majority of his graduates continue their education in the best Polish music schools such as the Academies of Music in Katowice, Wroclaw, Poznan, University of Music in Warszawa and foreign as the Royal Academy of Music in London, Real Conservatorio Superior de Musica in Madrid, Hoogeschoolvoor de kunstenArtEZ in Zwolle – Holland. He was also a member of the jury in the CEA Regional Hearings Cello and Double Bass classes students.
