Maria Zduniak - music theoretist, art historian, doctor of humanities, professor of music arts. Dean of Faculty of Composition, Conducting, Theory of Music and Music Therapy of the Karol Lipinski Academy of Music in Wroclaw. Since 1996 Head of Department of History of Silesian Music Culture. lnvoled in research into the history of music i.n Silesia, with a special focus on Wroclaw. Organizes and acts as academic head of conferences devoted to "Traditions of the Silesian Music Culture" (1980, 1984, 1987, 1990, 1992, 1995, 1998, 2001), scientific sessions devoted to: "Karol Lipinski - life, work, epoch" (1988, 1990, 1993, 2002) and: "Reception of works by Olivier Messiaen - La Cite celeste" (1998) and: "Reception of works by ]. 5. Each in the 19th and 20th centuries" (2000). Participated in 67 scientific symposia both at home (Warsaw, Katowice, Opole, Nysa,Zielona Gora, Poznan, Szczecin, Gdansk, Olsztyn, Wroclaw) and abroad (Stuttgart, Dresden, Zwickau, Koln, Halle, Chemnitz, Bad Kissingen, Salzburg, Opava, Lviv).
