Linda McKnight serves on the double bass Faculty of the Manhattan School of Music, with addtitional teaching affiliations at New York University, Columbia University, and Montclair (NJ) State University. She is a member of the Colonial Symphony of New Jersey and the St. Cecilia Chorus and Orchestra at Carnegie Hall, and performs extensively in chamber groups. throughout the New York metropolitan area. Some of her summer activities have included N] Summer Conference for String lšducaticm and Chamber Music, Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute, and Manhattan School of Music Summer Music Camp. She began bass studies in her native New Jersey with Joseph Cascelli, and received her bachelor of music degree from the Juilliard School under Frederick Zimmermann and Stuart Sankey. Her articles have been published in String Tunes, Tempo, American String Teaehenand Bass World magazines, and she is the editor of Paul Kamsiens Pieces for Friends, available through Boosey & Hawkes. Sought after as a clinician and adjudicator, she has received a mimber of awards for her contributions lo the bass and music education.
