Adam Skrzypek started his adventure with music at the age of 9. He received full musical education (at The Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, Jazz Department) at Professor Jacek Niedziela’s class of contrabass. Among his many achievements there are several awards from Polish and International jazz festivals. As a musician he took part in various important music festivals in Poland and abroad, e.g.: Polish Contemporary Music Festival (‘Musica Polonica Nova’), Festival of Singing Actors (‘PPA’), Jazz on the Odra, Festival of Jazz Standards, and many others.
At the Pomeranian Jazz Autumn he won ‘The Key to Career’. He gave concerts in many musical configurations in such countries as: the USA, Japan, South Korea, Germany, England, Ukraine, Belarus, the Czech Republic, Belgium, France,Chile or Luxembourg.
He cooperated with: the Big Band of Aleksander Mazur, Czwojda Band, Tomasz Stańko, Krzesimir Dębski Urszula Dudziak, Justyna Steczkowska, Mateusz Pospieszalski, Marek Bałata, Ewa Uryga, Salted Peanuts, Leszek Możdżer, Edyta Górniak, Ryszard Rynkowski, Zbigniew Lewandowski, Piotr Baron, Piotr Dziubek, Katarzyna Groniec, Olga Bończyk, Michael Sagmeister, Michell Chendrics, Judy Niemack.
Adam also works as a lecturer at the Wrocław School of Jazz of Zbigniew Czwojda. Since August 2006 he has performed the function of Music Director at the ‘Capitol’ Musical Theatre. He has been cooperating with Konrad Imiela for over thirteen years, the effect of which is their latest record ‘Garderoba męska’ (‘Men’s Dressing Room’), where he is the co-author of arrangements.
The fruits of Adam’s creative work also include many successful artistic productions (e.g. an acoustic recital of Justyna Steczkowska). He is very often invited to perform as a session musician (contrabass, bass guitar) for many artistic projects (e.g. Piotr Dziubek’s record ‘Tchnę’).
