Wojciech Niedziela - jazz pianist, composer. Graduated from the Music Academy named after Karol Szymanowski in Katowice, where he attended the class of piano, led by prof. A. Zubek. With the Jazz Institute by Composing, Interpretation, Education and Jazz Faculty connected since 1991 - at first as an assistant, at present as a senior assistant- leading the class of Jazz Piano and the Jazz Harmony class. Mr. Niedziela has accomplished about 30 CD records with such a performers as: J. Pt. Wroblewski, P. Wojtasik, E. Kulm, M. Kulenty, L. Szafran. He also made 4 records of his own, from which "To Kiss the Ivories" brought him 2 appointments to the "Fryderyk's Prize" for year 2000. Wojciech Niedziela is a laureate of many national and international competitions, among others: 1st Prize - Leverkusen Jazz Days (Leverkusen - Germany 1985), Grand Prix - Jazz Piano Players Competition (Kalisz-Poland 1985), 1st Prize - Jazz Improvisation Competition (Katowice- Poland1983). He was also twice awarded by the "Young Artists' Prize" named after Stanislaw Wyspianski. Wojciech Niedziela performed in famous jazz clubs (Montmartre, New Morning, A-Trane, Birdland) in Europe and USA, but also cooperated with leading artists of the international jazz stage such as: D. Liebman, M. Mainieri, D. Friedman, E. Henderson, B. Mollenhoff. To the circle of his alumni are included: M. Tokaj, P.Wylezol, P. Wrombel, M. Wasilewski, and P. Raminiak. Wojciech Niedziela leads also Summer Jazz Workshops in Pultusk, Pulawy and Chodziez.
