In 1996 he graduated from the State Higher School of Music in Katowice in the class of double bass of. Prof. Wiktor Gadziński. In the years 1961-1964 he worked for the Silesian Philharmonic in Katowice, and in the years 1964-85 he was double-bass concertmaster of the Polish Radio and Television Orchestra in Kraków. He also cooperated with Warsaw Chamber Opera and with Sinfonia Varsovia. In 1985 Czesław Ząbek became head of doublebass section of the Cracow Philharmonic. In the years 1976-1983 he was a double bass teacher at the State Secondary School of Music in Kraków. In 1994 he was nominated Professor of Music Arts. Czesław Ząbek gives master classes, workshops and symposiums in Bydgoszcz, Wrocław and Kraków. He was a member of jury panel of national competitions for secondary school students in Elbląg, Rzeszów, Dębica, Łódź and of the Danczowski National Cello Competition and Czekański National Double Bass Competition. Since 1974 he has taught at the Academy of Music in Kraków currently as Full Professor. Since 2007 he has cooperated with the Academy of Music In Katowice.
