Ukończył Akademię Muzyczną w Warszawie, w klasie fortepianu prof. Barbary Hesse-Bukowskiej, a także Hochschule fur Musik und Darstellende Kunst w Hamburgu. Ma w swoim dorobku 15 autorskich płyt.n Laureat wielu krajowych i międzynarodowych konkursów. Stale współpracuje z amerykańskim zespołem Western Jazz Quartet. Koncertuje na wszystkich kontynentach. Komponuje muzykę symfoniczną, ilmową, jazzową, wokalną i kameralną. W swoim dorobku kompozytorskim ma m.in. Koncert fortepianowy. Wykładał m.in. na Western Michigan University i na International Jazz Conference ‘99 w Los Angeles. Nagrywa dla radia i telewizji.
Występował na najważniejszych festiwalach jazzowych na świecie, w tym na North Sea Jazz Festiwal w Hadze (1998). Włodek Pawlik współpracował z następującymi muzykami: Richie Cole, Spike Robinson,bSal Nistico, Herb Geller, Alex Riel, Johannes Faber, Dusko Goykovic, Wolfgang Haffner, Scott Hamilton, Tom Knific, Billy Hart, Randy Brecker.
