Dariusz Mizera (b. December 29.1967 in Bytom, Poland) first studied at Music High School in Bytom with Prof. Gerard Przybyla, the principal double bassist of the Great Symphonie Orchestra of Polish Radio and Television. He continued his studies at the Academy of Music in Warsaw with Prof. Tadeusz Pelczar and gradueted in 1991 with distinction.
He furthered his studies with such renowned double bassists as Evgeniy Kolossov (Moscow), Francois Rabbath (France) and Franco Petracchi (Italy).
the years from 1988 to 1990 he was the second double bass soloist in the Radio Orchester in Warsaw and principal soloist of the Warsaw Chamber Opera Orchestra with which he performed all over Europe. In 1995 he landed the position of the principal soloist in the Malmoe Symphony Orchestra (Sweden) and in July of the same year he was offered the first soloist post in the Danish Concert Orchestra at the Danish National Radio in Copenhagen. From 2002 he ist he principal soloist of the Opernhaus in Zurich (Schweiz) and from 2005 he have the Profesure post in Neuchatel (Schweiz).
Dariusz Mizera ist the recipient of the numerous awards and prizes from national and international competitions such as Competition for Chamber Ensemble-double bass category in Wroclaw (1st award), The Adam Bronislaw Ciechanski Double Bass Competition in Poznan (1st award), The Giovanni Bottesini International Double Bass Competition in Cremona, Italy (3rd award). In 1990 he won the 1 st award at „Yamaha Foundation of Europe“ and in 2002 he
won 1st award of Internationl Double Bass Competition „Joseph Prunner“ in Bucarest (Romania).
