The ARTISTS of the festival

Jose Torres – cuban virtuoso of percussion. Founder of the first salsa orchestra called JOSE TORRES Y SALSA TROPICAL. During last 25 years he has played with almost every well known polish artist: Maryla Rodowicz, Ka- yah, Ewa Bem, Maanam, Stanisław Soyka, Grzegorz Ciechowski, Raz Dwa Trzy, Mietek Szczesniak. He was a sideman for many jazz musicians, recording both, live and studio; Tomasz Stanko, Wojciech Karolak, Zbigniew Namyslowski, Jaroslaw Smietana, Leszek Mozdzer, just to name a few. Since 1993 he’s been ranked THE BEST PERCUSSIONIST In Jazz Forum, the biggest polish jazz magazine. He was a musical director of famous TV show called “Wieczor z Jagielskim” which was shown on national tv. He appeared in various tv shows as a guest, f.ex: Wieczor z Alicja, Podroze z zartem, Moj pierwszy raz, Rozmowy w toku, Europa da sie lubic. Currently he is travelling around Poland playing concerts with his formations: Jose Torres y Salsa Tropical, Jose Torres SON.PL, and Jose Torres & the Cuban Train – a latin jazz group.
