The ARTISTS of the festival

Graduate from the Music Academy in Wroclaw. Following in his father’s footsteps he began to play percussion and drums in music school in Bytom. In 1997-1998 he was the winner of International Competition for Young Drummers. From 1997-2005 he was a member of jazz group called Triology, mentored by American clarinet player Brad Terry. With this group he has played over 300 concerts in New York, Los Angeles, San Diego, Boston, Chicago and Denver. He had an opportunity to play and jam with great American musicians like William Gallison, Tony Malaby, Jeff Williams, Aaron Goldberg, Jamey Aabersold, polish piano player Adam Makowicz, Buddy DeFranco. He is currently playing with all of his father bands: Jose Torres y Salsa Tropical, Jose Torres SON.PL, Jose Torres & The Cuban Train. He also has his own musical projects, f.ex. Mid West Quartet – jazz quartet, funky & soul band called Optimystic, and AFROMENTAL – r’n’b & soul group, which debut CD was realesed in 2007
