Born in France in 1961, Pascal Rollando is a specialist in Flamenco and Latin percussion. He is an expert player of a diverse set of
instruments from Africa, Brazil, and Latin America, and is renowned as a Cajon virtuoso. His personal blend of musical styles and instrumental colors is a perfect match with Renaud Garcia-Fons, whose trio he joined two years ago.
Pascal began playing in the streets of Toulouse in the south of France where he met musicians of diverse horizons. Eventually he turned his attention to Flamenco, whose ideas have been his focus for the past twenty years.
Fascinated by the fusion of world music rhythms, he likes to establish grooves and feelings with an array of nuances; and to perform with singers, jazz instrumentalists, and symphony orchestra.
He has recorded with Bernardo Sandoval, Juan Carmona, Kiko Ruiz, Francis Cabrel, Michel Fugain, Art Mengo, Nilda Fernandez, and the Serge Lopez Trio.
