He was born 4th of January, 1943 in Budapest in a musician-family. His father was the soIo double-bass player at the Hungarian State Opera House for decades.
Karoly Saru began his music study at the age of 12. He graduated at the Liszt Music Academy in 1970. Since 1967 he has been the leader of the double-bass
section at MAV Symphony Orchestra. Since 1973 he has been the Professor of the Liszt Music Academy in Debrecen, he is leading the double-bass facuIty.
