He is born in Paris in 1961 and grew up in Aix en Provence ( South of France).
Studyed economics at the university in Aix and graduate a Licence degree in economics (1985).
He starts playing percussions and drums at 15 years old. He learned from Brasilian traditional masters and at the conservatony in Aix en Provence. From that time, he is curious about all of the percussion instruments played from all overthe world. He had been played with many international Jazz and world musicians: Charlie Haden, Gil Evans, Michel Portal, Niels Lan Doky, Rick Margitza, Manu Dibango, Cheb Mami, Tania Maria, Iwao Furusawa. He has been participate to more than 100 Cd's recordings, composed for movies ( "The Professional" directed by Luc Besson) and dancers as well.
He is involved in the scandinavian jazz scene since 10 years and play with the danish singer Caecilie Norby, and in the Lars Danielsson 4tet "Libera me". He was invited by the Jazz Baltica Ensemble in 2004.
He is playing a mix of traditionnal and contemporany grooves and has developped a unique percussion and drum set to be able to play them simultaneously. The range of tones and colours he can bring into music is increased by adding some specific traditionnal percussion instruments and some electronics as well.
From solo performances to big bands or smaller groups, his creativity always brings music in an upper level..
