Krzysztof Korzeń - graduate of Prof. Gerard Przybyła's double bass class at the F. Chopin 1st and 2nd degree OSM in Bytom. He completed his studies at the Academy of Music in Cracow in the classes of Prof. Czesław Ząbek and Prof. Jerzy Tokarczyk. He perfected his double bass technique with the eminent double bass virtuoso Prof. Wolfgang Güttler at the State Music Academy in Karlsruhe, where he completed his postgraduate studies. He gained orchestral experience while studying at the Bytom music school, playing in the "Polish Youth Symphony Orchestra." During his studies, he started cooperation with the international orchestra "Philharmonie der Nationen," where he held the position of the first double bass for five years. He performed in the largest concert halls of Europe, Asia and North America with the orchestra mentioned above while accompanying such classy soloists as Mstislav Rostropovich, Pinchas Zuckerman, Maxim Vengerov, Sabine Meyer, and Kathleen Battle. From 2000 to 2022, he was a double bassist - soloist of the "Silesian Chamber Orchestra". Since May 2022, he has been the first double bassist guest of the Youth Academic Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, "Slobozhansky", who found refuge in Poland during the Russian aggression. Years ago, Krzysztof cooperated with the "Ricordanza" ensemble of soloists from Wroclaw, and today this cooperation continues. He has performed with this ensemble many times at the Berlin Philharmonic.

The artist specialises in chamber music. From 2001 to 2020, he was a musician of the "Quintet of Silesian Chamber Musicians", with which, as manager of the ensemble, he recorded and released four albums with a very diverse repertoire. The ensemble has the world phonographic premiere of Krzysztof Penderecki's String Quintet "Cards from an Unwritten Diary".

Krzysztof has been a teacher at the Bytom music school since 2007. To this time, his students have reached for prizes and awards at international and national double bass competitions as many as 46 times. In September 2021, he created a double bass class at the I.J. Paderewski First Degree Music School in Tarnowskie Góry. He is a Consultant at the "Center for Artistic Education" in Warsaw.
