Piotr Rojek graduated from the Instrumental Faculty of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, having studied the organ under Prof. Andrzej Chorosiński, and from the Faculty of Composition, Conducting, Theory of Music and Music Therapy of the same Academy, having studied composition under Prof. Zygmunt Herembeszta and Prof. Krystian Kiełb.
He has participated in a number of master interpretation and improvisation courses conducted by such eminent personalities of the world of organ music as: Julian Gembalski, Bernhard Haas, Hans Haselböck, Ferdinand Klinda, Ton Koopman, Jon Laukvik, Armin Schoof, Wolfgang Seifen, Józef Serafin or Harald Vogel.
Dr. hab. Piotr Rojek works as a professor at his alma mater. He is the Dean of the Instrumental Faculty and the Head of the Chair of the Organ, Harpsichord and Old Music. He also teaches the organ at the Ryszard Bukowski 2nd Level State School of Music in Wrocław, as well as at the Karol Szymanowski General Education 1st and 2nd Level Schools of Music in Wrocław.

The artist regularly gives concerts, both at home and abroad, including in: the Czech Republic, Finland (e.g. the Åland Islands), Spain, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Israel, Norway, Slovakia, Sweden, Ukraine, the USA, the UK, Italy and Hungary. He conducts master courses in Poland and in other countries. He has recorded over a dozen CDs. His CD from 2005, containing nine toccatas by outstanding composers from the period spanning the Baroque and the 20th century, performed on the historical organ at Wołów made by Adam Horatio Casparini, was nominated to the prestigious Polish Phonographic Academy FRYDERYK award. Piotr Rojek was a scholarship holder of the Polish Minister of Culture and Art and Internationale Altenberger Orgelakademie in Germany, as well a prizewinner in various organ and composition competitions.

The artist has received a number of prizes and distinctions, including: Award of the Rector of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, Award of the Director of the Art Education Centre in Warsaw, Bronze Cross of Merit, Decoration of Honor Meritorious for Polish Culture, Medal of the Commission of National Education, Award of the Minister of Culture of the Ukraine, Order Star of the Canon Chapter − in appreciation of his merits related to the reconstruction of the Baroque organ by Michael Engler in St. Elisabeth’s Basilica in Wrocław − and Medal of the President of the City of Wrocław Merito de Wratislavia – Wrocław’s person of merit for special merits for the city of Wrocław.

 

Wan-Ting is born in Taiwan and has been studying since a very young age both piano and double bass. She has earned a bachelor’s degree in piano performance from National Taiwan Normal University, a master’s degree in double bass performance from Taipei National University of Arts and is currently pursuing doctoral degree in Collaborative piano at Arizona State University. From 2015 to 2020 she was a member of Taipei Symphony Orchestra as a double bass player. As a collaborative pianist and double bass player, she has been playing many concerts all over the world, in countries like Germany, Italy, France, Holland, Poland, Switzerland, Romania, Russia, Mexico, Taiwan, Japan and Korea. She was also featured in world-famous double bassist Catalin Rotaru’s last three CD albums.


Studied at the K.Lipiński Music Academy in Wrcław under prof. Zdzisław Butom in 1989. While studying she perfected her skills taiking an active part in interpretation masterclasses and workshops under the guidance of such extrordinary cellist as Siegfried Palma, Ivan Monighetti, Andrzej Orkisz, Roman Suchecki, Marina Czajkowska and Bogumiła Reszke. From 1987, while she has been a student, she started a work at the State Musical secondary school of Karol Szymanowski in Wrocław as a cellist teacher, till 1996. After graduating in 1989, she accepted a job offer from her alma mater at the K.Lipiński Music Academy in Wrocław, where she became an assistant in the cello class, and futher in 1994 qualified as an adjunct with 1st level qualifications. In 2001 she gained the 2nd level qualifications and in December of 2014 she received the title of the Professor of Music Arts. From 2012 she is performing the deanship of the Instrumental Department,  and she is currently work her second term.
Prof. Urszula Marciniec-Mazur, while continuing teaching activity, she perform a numerous concert tours. Chamber music is her major specialization in the artistic activity. In 1987-2001 she performed with the Wrocław Chamber Orchestra Lepoldium, Opole Philharmonics, Wrocław Chamber Orchestra Wratislavia, and Menuhin Festival Orchestra. As the soloist of the Wrocław Chamber Orchestra Lepoldium, she cooperate with such great artists as Yehudi Menuhin, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Ewa Podleś, Konstanty Andrzej Kulka, Vadim Brodski, Jan Stanieda, Krzysztof Jabłoński.
Urszula Marciniec-Mazur is a constant member of the juries in national and international competitions and hearings. Moreover she is leading master classes and methodological workshops in cello playing and chamber music both in the country and abroad. In 2011 she was honoured Golden Cross of Merit by the President of The Republic of Poland. And in 2013 she received a medal Committee of the National Education.

 

 

Krzysztof Korzeń - graduate of Prof. Gerard Przybyła's double bass class at the F. Chopin 1st and 2nd degree OSM in Bytom. He completed his studies at the Academy of Music in Cracow in the classes of Prof. Czesław Ząbek and Prof. Jerzy Tokarczyk. He perfected his double bass technique with the eminent double bass virtuoso Prof. Wolfgang Güttler at the State Music Academy in Karlsruhe, where he completed his postgraduate studies. He gained orchestral experience while studying at the Bytom music school, playing in the "Polish Youth Symphony Orchestra." During his studies, he started cooperation with the international orchestra "Philharmonie der Nationen," where he held the position of the first double bass for five years. He performed in the largest concert halls of Europe, Asia and North America with the orchestra mentioned above while accompanying such classy soloists as Mstislav Rostropovich, Pinchas Zuckerman, Maxim Vengerov, Sabine Meyer, and Kathleen Battle. From 2000 to 2022, he was a double bassist - soloist of the "Silesian Chamber Orchestra". Since May 2022, he has been the first double bassist guest of the Youth Academic Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, "Slobozhansky", who found refuge in Poland during the Russian aggression. Years ago, Krzysztof cooperated with the "Ricordanza" ensemble of soloists from Wroclaw, and today this cooperation continues. He has performed with this ensemble many times at the Berlin Philharmonic.

The artist specialises in chamber music. From 2001 to 2020, he was a musician of the "Quintet of Silesian Chamber Musicians", with which, as manager of the ensemble, he recorded and released four albums with a very diverse repertoire. The ensemble has the world phonographic premiere of Krzysztof Penderecki's String Quintet "Cards from an Unwritten Diary".

Krzysztof has been a teacher at the Bytom music school since 2007. To this time, his students have reached for prizes and awards at international and national double bass competitions as many as 46 times. In September 2021, he created a double bass class at the I.J. Paderewski First Degree Music School in Tarnowskie Góry. He is a Consultant at the "Center for Artistic Education" in Warsaw.
